On the subject of Renmore House they have this to say: "We enjoy making our guests feel very welcome and like to ensure you gain the maximum benefit for your holiday experience in New Zealand".

Rosie and Blair share many interests such as gardening. Blair is very protective of his vege patch and Rosie loves to create tranquil outdoor areas in the flower garden for guests to enjoy. They both enjoy reading, biking and tramping. Rosie has had to learn to love rugby and Blair occasionally tolerates his compulsory exercise. They were both born in Otago and are very proud of their beautiful environment. Despite extensive overseas travel, they refer to Wanaka as "paradise" Rosie's life journey has involved being a registered nurse, a vocation she is still passionate about, and now works in the local community as a District Nurse on a casual basis. Both Rosie and Blair are very active in Rotary and can be seen at local fund raising events, Blair is usually the maestro of the barbeque. Rosie is also a member of Rotary International and both have been awarded Paul Harris Fellows for community service. |

Something could be said about their love of animals, but the author repeatedly fails to properly photograph their cat Sophie, and to negotiate an interview. |

Wanaka is a wonderful place to visit, made even better by our stay in Renmore House, Nothing was too much trouble for the hostess as she made us welcome into her beautiful home. The top class facilities, together with good home baking, made our stay comfortable and satisfying. Much needed advice on available local activities allowed our visit to be both interesting and worthwhile. Renmore House will be top of our list for places to stay next time! Rosie and Blair are the best sort of NZ b&b hosts: they run a spotless and comfortable home, they take enormous trouble and they are helpful guides when you want information on your travels. It is a delightful stop in a town with lots to do and see. Trip Advisor |

As I did not have access to the internet and therefore the great Tripadvisor reviews when I booked, I was so pleased at my lovely stay at the Renmore House. Everything was spot on; the location in town, the well- appointed rooms and common areas, the cheerfully bubbling brook in the back and the lovely breakfast (at your schedule) in the morning . Rosie and Blair show genuine care for their guests: Rosie generously picked me up right on time at the bus stop and later drove me to the head of an excellent walk among many, many other kindnesses. Lucky, lucky stay |

West Matukituki and Rob Roy Glacier is one of the areas most popular areas for a day trip. An hours drive from Wanaka and the Mt Aspiring National Park opens up with two moderate walks: one to the venerable Aspiring Hut [overnight accommodation for trampers], and the other to the head of the Rob Roy Stream for stunning views of the Rob Roy Glacier.
Lake Wanaka Outlet Track is minutes from the town center by car and is a gentle amble, or mt. bike ride from the the lake outlet to Albert Town. Allow 2-3 hours.
Diamond Lake part way up the West Matukituki valley and near the Treble Cone ski area involves a healthy climb on well graded loop tracks to the summit of Rocky Peak, for stunning views all around. Allow about 5 hours.
Mt Iron cherished by the locals for it's quick short fitness workout to the top and down the other side is 5 minutes from Renmore House by car to two starting areas. Great views of the area and town. Allow a couple of hours. Beautiful at dawn or evening and in bad weather.
Mt Roy is an honest walk of at least several hours to about 1500 metres, and for those keen on a workout the reward is a true Kea's view of the mountains of Lake Wanaka. The start is about 7 minutes drive from the town center.
